Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) provides a vital building block of the cartilage in our joints. Sulfur is the fourth most abundant mineral element after calcium, phosphorus, and potassium and is present in relatively large amounts in cartilage. MSM is considered to be a source of sulfur in these tissues. Because of MSM’s sulfur content, it is used by the body to maintain normal connective tissues.1,2
Promotes joint comfort and health
MSM is well-known as a supplement that supports joint comfort and promotes joint mobility and function, and this has been shown in a clinical trial.3 One clinical study even demonstrated that the addition of 500 mg MSM to the traditional joint health compounds, 1500 mg glucosamine sulfate and 1200 mg chondroitin sulfate, resulted in additive benefit compared to glucosamine alone or to placebo.4
